Fine Old Sheffield Salver/Card Tray - circa 1805

The fine Old Sheffield ( fusion of sterling and copper made between 1740 and 1840 ) is shaped oblong with an applied sterling silver French gadroon border with 4 shells attached to the sides.  The salver has its' original tinned ( poverty back ) underside.  The salver stands on 4 acanthus panel feet
